Your local dealership may be able to retrieve the code by VIN or may require the serial number from the stereo. If the code card is not present, there are several possibilities for acquiring the stereo code. On this code card is printed the serial number of the stereo and the matching stereo unlock code. The code card usually looks like a white credit card. Code cards are supplied with paper work when the vehicle is purchased. Most stereo codes can be found in the vehicle. I have since used that code when I unplugged the radio and confirmed it does work. The seller did not have the code (the owners manual was lost) and Peugeot will charge £20 to unlock the radio. When I bought my Ion the radio was not working because the 12v battery had been disconnected, and was also blocked and no longer accepting entry of codes due to too many wrong attempts. It can also "unblock" the radio if the wrong code had been entered too many times.
